WIDENER UNIVERSITY INFOMATICS BUILDING COMPETITION

  • LOCATION : Chester, PA
  • CLIENT: Widener University
  • SQUARE FOOTAGE: 25,000

This project is a design entry for Widener University’s competition to create a building for their newly-created major of Informatics.  Located at the corner of the historic campus core and on direct visual axis with Old Main, circa 1870, this new building design signals the arrival of the new curriculum to the campus.

The rendering below shows the new building at dusk looking into the two story lobby illuminated by a super-sized computer display that will be visible from the quad.  The landscaped plaza forms an entrance focus and social gathering spot for several pedestrian routes around and thru the quad.  The building creates an exciting backdrop to the graduation ceremony traditionally held on the historic quad.
