RENOVATION COMPLETE AT ALISON HALL

TEVEBAUGH ASSOCIATES HAS JUST COMPLETED A MAJOR RENOVATION OF ALISON HALL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE. MAJOR SYSTEMS AND BUILDING INFRASTRUCTURE ELEMENTS WERE AT THE END OF THEIR LIFE CYCLE WHICH NECESSITATED A TOTAL RENOVATION OF THE 55,000 SQUARE FOOT STRUCTURE. INCLUDED IN THE RENOVATION ARE ALL NEW INTERIOR WALLS, RESTROOMS, LIGHTING, CEILINGS, MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, FLOOR AND WALL FINISHES, AND OVERALL BUILDING ACCESSIBILITY UPGRADES.

THE RENOVATED BUILDING ACCOMMODATES SIX ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS INCLUDING THE CENTER FOR HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE, FASHION DEPARTMENT, AND THE DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY SUPPORT SERVICES. NEW SPACES FOR THE USERS INCLUDE CLASSROOMS, FACULTY OFFICES, AND SPECIALTY AREAS SUCH AS LABS, CONFERENCE ROOMS AND HUMIDITY CONTROLLED ARCHIVES FOR PRESERVING HISTORIC OBJECTS AND ARTIFACTS.

TO ACCOMMODATE THE UNIVERSITY’S ENERGY EFFICIENCY GOALS, THE BUILDING WAS DESIGNED TO MEET THE SUSTAINABILITY CRITERIA OF A LEED SILVER EQUIVALENT STRUCTURE.
