Wilmington Transit Center
The development of this project is a public private partnership (P3) between DelDOT & Delaware Transit Corporation and the development team of EDiS, Colonial Parking and Emory Hill. Tevebaugh Architecture designed the new transit center, which compliments the neighboring historic train station and the award winning Riverfront Parking Garage that was also designed by Tevebaugh. The parking garage will provide seven covered DART bus bays located under two levels of structured parking. The transit center also features a ticket office, three Walnut St. bus stops, surface parking for rental car pick-up and drop-off, and structured parking for 120 cars. The transit center will have an electric bus high speed charging station and public art will be incorporated into the façades of the parking structure. LED lighting will be utilized to illuminate the public art and for public safety. The transit center will become a new gateway into the city at the intersection of two major arteries.
