ING Direct Bank opened its first United States FDIC facility in Wilmington, Delaware. The banking operation occupies 40,000 square feet in a restored and renovated riverfront warehouse building that operates on a 24-hour basis.

In retrofitting the 120-year-old building, great care was taken to expose the warmth and character of the brick and timber structure. Open space planning is used throughout the building including executive offices and board room on the 6th floor. A 5,000 square foot annex was developed to accommodate column free space for training and computer rooms.
